Do you require a co-ownership?
Yes. We see this as a commitment to your family and your dog. It does not mean that we own a portion of your dog, instead it means that should a situation arise that warrants our assistance we want to be able to be available to do so
What type of registration do your dogs receive?
All puppies are sold on limited registration – without exception. This means they are not eligible for confirmation or available for breeding. Your dog is eligible to compete in all other events such as obedience, rally, scent work, barn hunt, and many others.
What type of food are the puppies being fed?
Puppies are being fed Purina Pro Plan 30/20 salmon and rice. This is what all of our goldens are fed throughout their life. We recommend continuing to use Purina Pro Plan throughout all stages of life. If you would like to discuss other food options please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
How big will my puppy get?
Golden retriever boys should reach between 65-75 pounds and girls should be between 55-65 pounds. Golden retrievers are considered a medium sized breed.
How will my puppy be picked?
Puppies will be evaluated before eight weeks for a number of factors – including temperament and structure by AKC judges. Additionally, puppies are raised in our personal home, by us. This means we watch the puppies daily to fully understand their personality and temperament. Knowing this, is why it is so important that we get to know you on a personal level, so we can pick the best puppy for you and your family.
Do you recommend crate training?
Yes, in the car and in the home. Utilizing a crate at home allows the dog to have a space which is theirs – it is a safe and calming place, and absolutely never a place of punishment. Utilizing a dog crate while in a vehicle is the same as making sure yourself and children have seatbelts on. All of our dogs use Ruff Land crates to travel.
What type of health clearances does your kennel do?
All of our dogs and stud dogs have received full health clearances through OFA, AKC, and UC Davis and can be viewed on the K9 Data link on their bio page. If you have any questions about health clearances – what they mean, what you should look out for, and more, do not hesitate to contact us.
